Sporty was the word to describe Alexander Wang’s Spring 2010 RTW Collection. In neutral colors of predominately khakis, greys and black, the pieces had a boxy if not masculine feel. Many of the pieces had an irregular cut, such as hemlines shorter in the front and longer in the back. Corset lace ups adorned both tops and bottoms. In several looks, leather accompanied knits to express both a tough, edgy feel and soft, almost feminine look. Athletic type undergarments could be seen under quite a few of the outfits. It seemed as though the models just had thrown on street wear right before leaving the gym.
It was a marriage of calisthenics and couture.
To emphasize the overall sporty theme, the models had little or no make up on. Hairstyles were kept simple, usually in an unkempt side braid. The outfits were completed by knee-length socks in neutral colors with open-toed, lace up booties.
