One of my all-time Favorite actresses is Katharine Hepburn. A smart, witty, sarcastic red-head with a take-charge attitude and a no-frills sense of style. Starring in movies like Little Women, The Philadelphia Story and Bringing Up Baby made her a household name in the 1930’s and 40’s. She received twelve Oscar nominations and four wins (still a record for an actress). Often wearing pants and no make-up, Hepburn’s quirky attitude shocked audiences of the day.
Personally, I can relate to her matter-of-fact tone and Men’s-wear-meets-Glamour-Girl style. She wasn’t afraid to wear whatever the heck she wanted, no matter what people said or thought of her.
“Plain women know more about men than beautiful ones do. But beautiful women don’t need to know about men. It’s the men who have to know about beautiful women.” K.H.
“Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get – only with what you are expecting to give – which is everything.” K.H.
“I think most of the people involved in any art always secretly wonder whether they are really there because they’re good or there because they’re lucky.” K.H.
Oh, how I would love to act/dress/talk/mingle/love like Katharine Hepburn everyday of my life…
